Bohm Wildish & Matsen, LLP, is a law firm centered in the heart of the financial district in in Southern California and San Diego, but we serve clients throughout the state.  The firm has established a varied litigation and business practice.  The practice includes specialties in the fields of business law and litigation, insurance law and litigation, construction defect litigation, family law, real estate law and litigation, public entity defense, professional liability defense, products liability, corporations, partnerships, business organizations, employer/employee relations (including wrongful termination litigation), labor, and creditor’s rights and bankruptcy.

The firm conducts an active construction defect litigation practice representing developers, general contractors, sub-contractors, quality control and quality assurance personnel and design professionals. The firm’s representation of clients in construction defect matters ranges from peripheral party sub-contractors all the way up to a principal target in a $300 million action for alleged construction defects at a major international airport. The firm’s representation in construction defect litigation includes matters relating to single family custom homes, condominium projects, apartments, single family home developments and commercial projects. The firm’s representation includes virtually every trade.

We have established a reputation for expertise in the field of insurance law.  We also represent insurers, managing general agents, brokerage firms and other insurance intermediaries as well as defend the insured in third party claims.  Members of the firm have represented governmental agencies and corporations in high stakes, serious injury personal injury cases including paraplegia and wrongful death claims.  Our varied client list includes: both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury claims; professionals, such as attorneys, accountants, insurance brokers and agents, realtors, and others; developers, homeowners associations and various trades in construction defect litigation; and a host of businesses and corporate entities. The representation of our clients often results in litigation focusing upon the diverse substantive fields of law in which they engage.

Governmental entities have long been served by members of the firm.  These include entities within the State of California, cities, counties, school districts, water districts, irrigation districts and individuals within these entities.  The representations range from advice and opinions to prosecuting and defending a broad spectrum of claims and lawsuits involving individuals and the entities.  Our lawyers have tried dozens of serious injury cases to verdict with a more than ninety percent success rate.  These trials have included claims of civil rights violations, wrongful death and claims involving loss of limbs and paraplegia.

The firm conducts an active business practice.  It advises many clients in planning, structuring and coordinating its contract management. The firm has substantial experience in representing Fortune 500 companies in business litigation.  We also have considerable experience in representing companies in employment and wrongful termination litigation.  Members of the firm have represented business clients in litigation matters involving issues relating to contracts, unfair business practices, RICO, anti-trust and a wide variety of other business torts and statutory claims.  Members of the firm have also established an expertise in franchise law representing both franchisors and franchisees.  Business clients include private corporations, public corporations, multinational corporations, wholesale suppliers of food products, oil companies, communication companies, franchisors and franchisees.

The firm has an active financial institutions and commercial insolvency practice, representing financial institutions in various litigation and transactional matters as well as representing creditors, debtors, and bankruptcy trustees in bankruptcy proceedings.  The attorneys associated with the firm have handled a broad variety of matters, including:  business reorganizations; out-of-court workouts; corporate liquidations and wind-ups; purchase and sale of assets through bankruptcy; secured and unsecured creditor claims in and outside bankruptcy; actions involving guarantors and general partners of a debtor in bankruptcy; defense and prosecution of non-dischargeability actions; defense and prosecution of “strong-arm” avoidance actions; secured creditor relief from stay proceedings; assumption and assignment of executory contracts in bankruptcy; and defense and prosecution of involuntary bankruptcy proceedings.
